Day 193: A skateboard, with a boost?

When Sanjay Dastoor says the word, ‘electric vehicle’, people think about vehicles they use daily.
A battery he shows us has about ten kilometres of range, while an engine could propel a vehicle up San Francisco’s hills at about twenty kilometres per hour.
Then we see a great video, showing how it could change people’s interactions with a city like San Francisco. There’s a hand-held remote which can control braking, reversing and speed. The skateboard is light enough to be carried wherever the user goes. It uses twenty times less energy for every kilometre travelled than a car, as well as being cheaper and faster to build.
Dastoor lets his video do most of the talking and his closing sentiment is simple; the hope that one day when people think about vehicles, it’s not just about a car.
