Day 177: Derek Sivers: Weird, or just different?

In Japan, instead of street names, blocks are named. Houses are numbered by the order in which they were built instead of linearly. There are doctors who are paid for every month you’re healthy, as they’ve failed at their job otherwise.
Sivers uses these examples to show that things we take for granted may not always be the case. He cautions that whatever brilliant ideas you may have or hear, the opposite may also be true.
